Brief hiatus.

Why haven't I posted this week?

Because this:
xkcd
I had two badly infected teeth pulled on Monday, and well, without getting graphic, it has not been a smooth recovery.  I've spent the week in a state alternating between Vicodin haze and "oh God I don't want to have a mouth any more."

I'll try and have new content up by Tuesday at the latest.

  8. Oh Dental Pain Road... I have travelled it many a time. It is the shittiest of journeys. Take your time, focus on healing before blogging, the world can wait. Sending wishes for good health and a happier mouth soon.

  9. i've got a new National Geographic with many animals i can sacrifice on your behalf [what? if ancient Greeks "tricked" Zeus into accepting just the bones and fat, i can convince Goddess to accept the pictures! lol]

seriously, dental pain SUCKS - oxycotin doesn't affect it in my case. GoodThought(tm) sent to you!

  10. Mouth pain is the worth. People never believe this, but having my wisdom teeth out was worse than childbirth (no painkiller, induced childbirth, at that). Get well soon, Holly.

    2. Stop talking yourself up about that shit with the Christmas tree. That was years ago, find a new accomplishment.

  17. They pulled the teeth while they were still infected?! I didn't think they were supposed to do that. :( Hope it improves fast.

    1. I mean, what would they do? Wait until they get MORE infected? Or the infection to potentially spread to other parts? Yikes, no - PULL THEM FUCKERS OUT, DENTIST!

And get better soon, Holly! I miss your insight.

    2. They gave me antibiotics for a couple weeks before pulling the teeth.

Rebecca - Dentists generally won't pull a tooth with a real active infection, because that can spread the infection and because the Novocaine won't work. Hence the antibiotics first.

    3. Didn't know it would affect the anaesthetic - though there can be real complications if a bad infection spreads. That said, if it doesn't respond to antibiotics (or doesn't respond well/quickly enough) I guess they've got to make the call.

  18. I was confused when I started reading the comic and then it finally clicked at the end. Where did you find that? I couldn't stop laughing. That sucks about your teeth though!

  22. I had wondered where you got to, so thanks for letting us know.

Good vibes to you and your remaining teeth, no one here minds in the least when you post so long as your looking after yourself and getting better.

Rest up and relax as much as is possible with your teeth doing the evils on you.
